Bio:
If you have ever stepped onto the vibrating dance floors of Calgary's subculture, even for a show or two, then you most likely have made a connection with this bass enthusiast. Whether he is in the crowd beside you, spinnin' beats on stage or working hard to make sure your show experience is a pleasurable one, Jamie Sho is a key player in Calgary's highly-acclaimed bass scene.
In 1998 Jamie Sho started out his journey as a DJ and promoter based out of Ottawa, Canada. Like a seed, he grew firm roots into the Old-school Ragga-Jungle dominated environment around him. Unfortunately for Sho, that era came to an end and the organic sounds of jungle were soon replaced with the aggressive hybrid sounds of Drum and Bass. Wanting to keep his upbeat and positive, Sho shifted his attention towards Breakbeats, Garage and Electro House.
In recent years, Jamie Sho has found himself hooked onto the same inspired path as so many other notable DJ's and producers. This change being brought on by the depth, dimension and possibilities that the Dubstep sound has seemed to capture. Sho's electronic tendencies have always been heavy on the bassline, so it is no surprise that his wonk would one day evolve into a wobble. In a Dubstep-saturated world, Sho is also passionate about UK Funky/Bashment/Garage sounds and wishes the electronic scene would pay more tribute to its organic roots.
With all his past experience and dabbling in different genres, Jamie Sho tosses quite the ear-salad on stage. Promising to serve you with fresh Dubstep, Funky and Breaks as the greens, he tops it off with some Old-School Ragga seasoning and massive Basslines for the dressing.
Jamie Sho's sound-waves have traveled from ears in St. John's, Newfoundland to bikini clad bootys in Hawaii in past years and have since found their way to Western Canada (is there any better location?). Sho made a seamless transition into this scene and has established himself with one of North America's premier Electronic Music production companies The Supreme Hustle, amongst other heavyweights such as Mark Instinct, Slim Pickins, Puppetmaster and LA Rose. He has graced the same stages as international DJ's; Breakage, Caspa, Emalkay, N-Type, The Others, Downlink, Dieselboy, Vaski, Noah D, Ginz, Reid Speed, L-Vis1990, Benny Page, Marcus Visionary, Megazoid, Knight Riderz & Piranha Piranha. With upcoming shows along side artists like Chase & Status, Zeds Dead, Bare Noize, Reso, Nasty Nasty, Toddla T, Untold, Drop the Lime, Brodinski and more there is no sign of Jamie Sho's fire being extinguished any time soon.
